Charles Eesley
Charles Eesley is an Associate Professor and W.M. Keck Foundation Faculty Scholar in the Department of Management Science and Engineering at Stanford University. He’s also on faculty at the Stanford Technology Ventures Program, which is the engineering school’s entrepreneurship center. Charles helps students develop entrepreneurial skills, and sponsors courses and research involved with tech-venture formation. He has educated over 200,000 students online in over 100 countries, including young people.
Charles is at the cutting edge in studying entrepreneurship in the U.S., China, Japan, and Chile. As an influential leader, he’s advised countries on fostering high-tech entrepreneurship. He’s given keynote addresses in China, Brazil, and other countries. Charles’ research findings appear in Forbes, Bloomberg, Wall Street Journal, and other publications. He’s received over 12 international awards and honors, including the Schulze Distinguished Professor Award.
Additionally, Charles is an entrepreneur, board member, and advisor, as well as investor in high-tech start-ups and online education organizations. While earning a Bachelor’s degree from Duke University, he started his first company. Charles completed his Ph.D. at the MIT Sloan School of Management where he studied the financial impact of entrepreneurship graduates from MIT and Tsinghua University.
