Michael McCormick

Michael is regarded as a top game designer of award-winning educational and entertainment games. He always uses the power of games to make people think, tell stories, and expand their minds. At Lucas Learning, he worked with George Lucas, producing Star Wars educational games for children. At Electronic Arts, his add-on pack for The Sims was one of the top selling games of all time. He’s also worked for other leading companies, including Zynga, Telltale Games, and Henson Associates. As Creative Director, Director of Game Design, and Lead Game Designer, he’s contributed to SimCity, Minecraft Story Mode, and Cityville. He’s also created MMOs (massively multiplayer online games) for children based on DreamWorks’ movies.

Michael graduated with a BA in Cognitive Science and Asian Studies from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. During college, he spent one year studying at Kansai Gaidai University in Japan. He earned a Masters degree in Technology in Education from Harvard University. 

Michael has taught game design to children and will teach game design to 6 Arts Academy students.
